I am happy to share that Eilidh, Sid and I have been invited to exhibit Meet the Food You Eat at the Innovation Lab’s NEXT exhibtion, April 2 - 5 in the city of Århus.
A dozen of the most daunting international minds on business, technology and invention will take the conference stage. And 100 of the most perspectivating, forward facing and unexpected uses of new technology is drawn from research labs, startups, and R&D facilities from around the globe, to be showcased, tried, discussed and probably fixed a few times during the four day exhibition.
I am glad they chose to include that line about fixing things ;) Anyway, we will be joined by a few classmates exhibiting their own projects, Bunny Bot, CALEN3DAR and Compound Eye.
During some down time on the TUI project, Sid laser cut a camera mount for his bicycle. He let me borrow it so I could make a video of my commute to school this morning. The song is Black Power by Danish rapper Per Vers (apparently it’s about coffee). Enjoy!
Earlier this week we had a visit from Ana Amorim, a former IDEO designer and graduate of the now defunt Interaction Design Institute Ivrea. While she was here to present her thesis work, she also showed us this diagram she designed. It describes an interaction design process and allows designers to rate their abilities in each area.
Pictured above are the ratings I gave to myself. I will be interested to see how these increase come September.
I am really feelin’ 8tracks. Upload your favorite music, make mixes of 8 or more songs and share them with your friends. It’s pretty simple which is good because I always drive myself crazy trying to make mixes.
Here’s my first one, an homage to film maker Michael Mann… http://8tracks.com/nonlocal
Take your own photos and videos, don’t rely on other people to document your projects and presentations!
Tonight was the second round of Pecha Kucha at CIID, where students present 20 slides for 20 seconds each. It’s a fun and informal way to get to know each other better. People present projects they worked on in the past, pictures of their family, what their interests & hobbies are, what inspires them or anything else that they want. But remember, you have to go the next slide after only 20 seconds.
Keep on reading to see the slides from my presentation…
